The Postholder responsibilities will involve setting and operating the CNC machines for the prove out process of new products and for general production, on line CNC program creation, CNC cutting tool selection, data control and assisting with fixture design when appropriate
The successful candidate will have relevant previous experience, as well as experience of machining of castings and an in-depth knowledge of CNC Machining. The candidate will also be self-motivated, a good team player and be quality oriented. Experience of Mazak, Matsuura and Haas machining centres would be an advantage for this role.
CNC Setter/ Operator x 3 2 on Dayshift or Lateshift x 1 on Nightshift / GW Machining – Bridgnorth, 37.5 hours per week / Job Ref: GW266
The Postholder’s responsibilities will involve setting existing products on CNC machining centers including downloading programs, setting of tools and fixtures and making required adjustments to offsets, setting new fixtures and prove out programs for new products, and setting and proving out new tooling for new products.
The successful candidate will have relevant previous experience, as well as experience of Fanuc and/ or Mazak / Mazatrol machining centers.
Patternmaker x 2 / 37 hours per week, Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW346
A vacancy has arisen for two Patternmakers on the dayshift, reporting to the Patternshop Manager. Previous experience of patternmaking is required for this role.
CMM Programmer / 37.5 hours per week / GW Machining, Bridgnorth /Job Ref: GW367
The Postholders will be responsible for writing CMM programs from both 2d and 3d data using PCDMIS, Quindos and Mitutoyo Geopak software, selecting suitable probes and attachments for the CMM to ensure accurate and efficient measurement of components, and generating clear and concise CMM reports which display all customer and manufacturing required outputs. Other responsibilities include analysing CMM reports and communicating any non-conforming measured features and features which are moving towards the limits of tolerance and liaise with production staff to correct any such issues, providing training to production operatives on the operation of the CMM’s for running jobs, and compiling corrective action reports for non-conforming products and liaising with production staff to ensure correction of any out-of-specification features.
The successful candidates will have a good understanding of inspection of machined parts whilst employing a wide range of measurement techniques mainly CMM but including, Shadow Graph and all generally used engineering inspection tools, a good working knowledge of PCDMIS preferably for DEA CMM machines, proven experience of meeting customer deadlines and experience of creating detailed instructions, control plans and standard working procedures. Relevant industry experience of machined parts inspection employing all commonly used engineering inspection equipment is required for this role, as is a good understanding of customer and engineering requirements. A working knowledge of Quindos and Geopak is desirable for this role.
The roles are employed on a flexible shift working basis; it is anticipated that they will work predominantly on the dayshift.
Programme Manager / 40 hours per week, Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW398
The Postholder’s duties will include high level management of a portfolio/programme of projects across the business, managing them in a co-ordinated way to obtain benefits and control not available from managing the projects individually where programmes may include elements of related work outside scope of the discrete projects in the program. The Postholder will also ensure projects within the programme are successfully delivered in line with agreed overall programme timescales and budgets.
The successful applicant will have extensive experience of programme/project management using a recognised methodology and with responsibility for overall programme delivery, risk management and budget. They will have experience of strategy definition, communications and stakeholder management, experience of managing a cross-discipline team and proven experience of problem-solving and influencing skills. The ability to work on their own initiative in all areas of work, be capable of making decisions within the remit of the programme and take personal responsibility for making things happen is also required for this role.
Metallurgist – Research / 40 hours per week, Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW418
The Postholder’s duties will include providing direct metallurgical support for the aluminium and iron foundries, developing and documenting foundry processes to improve reliability and reduce costs.
The successful candidate will hold a recognised formal engineering qualification or demonstrable significant experience in relevant fields, will have relevant foundry experience and have experience in supervision of ferrous metallurgy, along with good communication skills and the ability to work within a team. An understanding of aluminium metallurgy is desirable for this role.
CAD Engineer x 2 / 37 hours per week, Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW419
The Postholders will design for manufacture pattern tooling for the GW foundry processes, as well as proactively communicating with external and internal stakeholders, both verbally and in writing to achieve company and customer requirements. Duties will also include providing support and problem solving within the foundry and customer environment and recording and storing all used data in compliance with the departmental quality requirement.
The successful candidates will have experience in CAD solid modeling systems, and of CAD design within a foundry environment. Knowledge of CNC machining and data control is essential for this role, as are good written and verbal communication skills, commercial awareness and project planning experience.
Manufacturing Engineer / 45 hours per week / GW Machining, Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW427
The Postholder will be responsible for manufacturing process planning, CNC offline program creation and CNC cutting tool selection and procurement. Other duties include training and instructing others in offline programming, customer liaison on design for manufacture and general technical issues and introducing and progressing New Products through the shop.
The successful candidates will have an in-depth knowledge of on line ISO programming, technical drawings, geometric tolerances and practices, along with experience and knowledge of CAD/ CAM and a good understanding of CMM inspection methods.
Quality Engineer / 40 hours per week, Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW438
The Postholder’s duties will include providing leadership and ownership of quality improvements, facilitating activities to reduce scrap and rework, managing the measurement of scrap effectively, providing support and coaching using visual management to all shop floor processes with respect to product quality, and liaising with customers and internal departments to ensure problem resolution and support of the Company’s New Product Introduction process.
Successful applicants will have a knowledge of 8D, PPAP, Control Plans, FMEA’s and other Quality tools and techniques, be conversant with ISO 9001:2008 and TS16949, and have experience of aluminium/ iron cast components.
GW Machining – Bridgnorth, 37.5 hours per week on a flexible shift working basis in accordance with the needs of the business / Job Ref: GW447
The Postholder will assist the MP&L Team Leader with all day-to-day MP&L administrative activities, to include raising shipping notes to sub-contract processing suppliers & booking in deliveries from multiple suppliers, and with despatch administrative requirements, to include raising despatch notes and shipping labels; and to provide support with packing and any general despatch duties. Duties also include assisting goods in and out activities, with respect to all material processing, support MP&L led stock take and helping maintain and support any information pertaining to GWM’s Work In Progress management system.
The successful candidate will be competent using Microsoft Office, in particular Outlook and Excel, have good communication skills, both verbal and written and hold both a current, valid, driving licence and a current, valid counterbalance forklift truck licence. Experience in a similar role is preferable, but full training will be given.
