Global market leader in their field Grainger & Worrall has received a second Queen’s Award for Enterprise, this time for innovation. The specialist castings manufacturer supplies a diverse range of industries, including motorsport, defence and aerospace, and has built a worldwide reputation for developing some of the most complex castings for a very demanding customer base incorporating the pinnacle of motorsport, Formula 1.

The award was presented by HRH The Duke of Gloucester following a tour of the company’s
Shropshire headquarters to meet personnel and learn more about Grainger & Worrall’s history and
current innovations.

His Royal Highness also officially opened the company’s new technical centre, part of a recent £3m
investment.

“To receive a second Queen’s Award for Enterprise is a huge achievement and we are enormously
proud of this,” said director Edward Grainger.

“The company was founded in 1946 and has maintained a highly skilled engineering bias through
sustained years of growth, we now employ some 400 people for which innovation and continuous
improvement is a pre-requisite.”

“Our customers rightly expect, faster, lighter, more fuel efficient and altogether better, we will
continue to play our part to enable this to happen, be it on the race track or next generation passenger
vehicle.”
“His Royal Highness showed great interest in both our history and current developments, and he
spent a good deal of time chatting to our staff – it was a tremendous day.”
