Manufacturing Engineer / GW Machining – Bridgnorth, 45 hours per week / Job Ref: GW475

The Postholder will be responsible for manufacturing process planning, CNC offline program creation and CNC cutting tool selection and procurement.  Other duties include training and instructing others in offline programming, customer liaison on design for manufacture and general technical issues and introducing and progressing New Products through the shop.

The successful candidates will have an in-depth knowledge of online ISO programming, technical drawings, geometric tolerances and practices, along with experience and knowledge of CAD/ CAM and a good understanding of CMM inspection methods.

CNC Setter/ Operator / GW Machining – Bridgnorth, 37.5 hours per week on a flexible shift working basis in accordance with the needs of the business / Job Ref: GW481

The Postholder’s responsibilities will involve setting existing products on CNC machining centers including downloading programs, setting of tools and fixtures and making required adjustments to offsets, setting new fixtures and prove out programs for new products, and setting and proving out new tooling for new products.

The successful candidate will have relevant previous experience, as well as experience of Fanuc and/ or Mazak / Mazatrol machining centers.

The Postholder’s duties will include manufacturing process planning, CNC offline program creation, CNC cutting tool selection and procurement and customer liaison on design for manufacture and general technical issues. Duties will also include setting and operation of CNC machines for the prove out process of new products, liaising with suppliers for sub-contract processing and introducing and progressing New Products through the shop. This role will hold responsibility for

sign off of new programs and hand over to B56 & B52 production teams and New Product Introduction in both B56 & B52 machining areas.

The successful candidate will have experience in all aspects of the above responsibilities, experience of CAM and knowledge of online ISO programming. An in-depth knowledge of technical drawings, geometric tolerances and practices is required for this role, as are a good understanding of inspection methods, an understanding of the Open Minds Hypermill programming system and experience of automotive high tolerance component machining in a production environment. Experience of managing a small team would be desirable for this role.

CNC Setter/ Programmer / GW Machining – Bridgnorth, 37.5 hours per week on a flexible shift working basis in accordance with the needs of the business / Job Ref: GW511

The Postholders’ responsibilities will involve setting and operating the CNC machines for the prove out process of new products and for general production, on line CNC program creation, CNC cutting tool selection, data control and assisting with fixture design when appropriate
The successful candidates will have relevant previous experience, as well as experience of machining of castings and an in-depth knowledge of CNC Machining. The candidates will also be self-motivated, good team players and be quality oriented. Experience of Mazak, Matsuura and Haas machining centres would be an advantage for this role.

Foundry Technician x 2: / 37 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern, Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW520

The Postholders’ duties will include supporting the Engineering team with sampling activities, supporting the transition from sampling to production and supporting investigation of product issues.

The successful candidates will have knowledge of health and safety legislation as it applies to the role, have successfully completed a RoSPA certified manual handling training course (or equivalent qualification) and will have completed Health, Safety & Environmental awareness training. Competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel & PowerPoint is required for this role, along with foundry process, cast product and automotive quality orientation and strong engineering bias proven through either education or experience. Relevant industry experience of cast and machined parts inspection employing all commonly used engineering inspection equipment is desirable for this role, as is an NVQ level 2 certificate or above in a relevant subject (or equivalent qualification).

Patternshop & CAM Supervisor / 45 hours per week, Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW530

The Postholder’s duties will include planning and overseeing Patternshop and CAM Department activities to achieve daily and weekly plan and targets, ensuring Company quality procedures are followed, supervising Patternshop and CAM Department team members and supporting management with health and safety and environmental matters within the team.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of health and safety legislation as it applies to the role, have successfully completed a RoSPA certified manual handling training course (or equivalent qualification) and be competent using Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Previous supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment is required for this role, as are sand cast process experience, foundry technical knowledge and proven experience of achieving on time delivery to the quality standard required by the customer. Experience of Data Manager & TMS is desirable for this role, as are holding an NVQ Level 3 certificate or above in a relevant subject (or equivalent qualification) and quality system knowledge.

CAM Operative / 37 hours per week, Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW531

A vacancy has arisen for a CAM Operative on the dayshift. The Postholder will be responsible for looking after the day to day maintenance of the CNC machines, cutting & gluing model board to specific sizes, as well as machining blocks, roughing out and skimming and setting the machines for final cuts.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated and disciplined, methodical, and will have recent experience of using CNC machines.  An engineering background would be an advantage for this role.

A vacancy has arisen for a Patternshop Operative to assist in ensuring that the Patternshop is kept neat and tidy. Duties include general housekeeping such as sweeping and cleaning.

Tool Setter / GW Machining – Bridgnorth, 37.5 hours per week on a flexible shift working basis in accordance with the needs of the business / Job Ref: GW539

The Postholder will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the tool setting area run smoothly and support production as required and for liaising with tooling suppliers on a regular basis to ensure that both Consignment & Company stock levels of tooling are sufficient to support production. Ensuring that all tooling returned from Production is checked for condition before being broken down, waxed and stored safely in the correct location is a requirement for this role, as is correctly identifying any special tooling relating to a specific job so that it can be adequately protected & stored in clearly defined kits ready for future use.

The successful candidate will have experience in the above responsibilities and be capable of working using their own initiative. Good interpersonal skills are needed for this role, as is an organized and methodical approach to work

Laboratory Technician / GW Engineering – Worcester; 39 hours per week / Job Ref: GW544

The Postholder’s duties will include micrographic sample preparation, component sectioning & preparation for metallurgical/ failure investigations. Duties also include NDT inspections including dye penetrant inspection, real time x-ray inspections, wet film x-ray results inspection and CT scan reporting.

The successful applicant will have a strong research orientation, proven through either education or experience, basic experience of NDT testing of metal castings and will be proficient in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of health and safety legislation as it applies to the role, as are successful completion a RoSPA certified manual handling training course (or equivalent qualification) and completion of Health, Safety & Environmental awareness training. The Postholder’s duties will include carrying out plant and equipment installation in line with the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) system and best working practices and maintaining minimal disruption whilst carrying out all new instructions and quality maintenance/ repair processes & practices. At all times, the successful candidate will maintain awareness of all aspects of Health & Safety, ISO quality standards and other quality standards to ensure adherence to emergency procedures and that security of personnel is maintained to a high standard.

The successful candidate will be able to read and have an understanding of electrical & mechanical schematic drawings, have a knowledge of PLC’s (Programmable Logic Controller) Systems, have experience of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), and have knowledge of pneumatics/ hydraulics. The Postholder’s duties will include supporting the Coscast Management team with all MP&L responsibilities, controlling Supply Chain activity, including all sub-contract processes, and auditing and analysing data on behalf of the MP&L function.

The successful applicant will have previous MP&L experience within a manufacturing environment, have proven experience of achieving on time delivery to the quality standard required by the customer, have knowledge of health and safety legislation as it applies to the role and have successfully completed a RoSPA certified manual handling training course (or equivalent qualification). Strong analytical skills are needed for this role, as are organising and planning skills

and problem solving skills. Quality system knowledge is desirable for this role.
