The Postholders’ duties will include a combination of loading, operating and basic programming of CT scanner systems, data download, metallurgical analysis and report creation from CT scan images, loading and operating CMM systems, and CMM report data download and first level analysis.
The successful applicants will hold knowledge of health and safety legislation as it applies to the role, have successfully completed a RoSPA certified manual handling training course (or equivalent qualification), and will have completed Health, Safety & Environmental awareness training. Competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel & PowerPoint is required for this role, as is experience of using a range of computer operating systems, e.g. GOM, PCDMIS. Experience of using metrology tools and techniques on castings is desirable for this role, as is experience of using CT/ Optical and of using CMM techniques and analysis.
CNC Setter/ Operator (Dayshift) / 37 hours per week / Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW464
The Postholder’s duties will include setting existing products on CNC machining centers including downloading programs, setting of tools and fixtures and making required adjustments to offsets. Duties also include setting new fixtures and prove out programs for new products and setting and proving out new tooling for new products.
The successful candidate will have experience in the role responsibilities. Experience of HAAS & MAZAK machining centres is an advantage. With reasonable notice, the successful candidate will be required to change their shift to the lateshift in accordance with the operational needs of the business.
Manufacturing Engineer / 45 hours per week, GW Machining, Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW475
The Postholder will be responsible for manufacturing process planning, CNC offline program creation and CNC cutting tool selection and procurement. Other duties include training and instructing others in offline programming, customer liaison on design for manufacture and general technical issues and introducing and progressing New Products through the shop.
The successful candidates will have an in-depth knowledge of on line ISO programming, technical drawings, geometric tolerances and practices, along with experience and knowledge of CAD/ CAM and a good understanding of CMM inspection methods.
CMM Programmer / GW Machining – Bridgnorth / 37.5 hours per week on a flexible shift working basis / Job Ref: GW479
The Postholder will be responsible for writing CMM programs from both 2d and 3d data using PCDMIS, Quindos and Mitutoyo Geopak software, selecting suitable probes and attachments for the CMM to ensure accurate and efficient measurement of components, and generating clear and concise CMM reports which display all customer and manufacturing required outputs. Other responsibilities include analysing CMM reports and communicating any non-conforming measured features and features which are moving towards the limits of tolerance and liaise with production staff to correct any such issues, providing training to production operatives on the operation of the CMM’s for running jobs, and compiling corrective action reports for non-conforming products and liaising with production staff to ensure correction of any out-of-specification features.
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of inspection of machined parts whilst employing a wide range of measurement techniques mainly CMM but including, Shadow Graph and all generally used engineering inspection tools, a good working knowledge of PCDMIS preferably for DEA CMM machines, proven experience of meeting customer deadlines and experience of creating detailed instructions, control plans and standard working procedures. Relevant industry experience of machined parts inspection employing all commonly used engineering inspection equipment is required for this role, as is a good understanding of customer and engineering requirements. A working knowledge of Quindos and Geopak is desirable for this role.

The Postholder responsibilities will involve setting and operating the CNC machines for the prove out process of new products and for general production, on line CNC program creation, CNC cutting tool selection, data control and assisting with fixture design when appropriate
The successful candidate will have relevant previous experience, as well as experience of machining of castings and an in-depth knowledge of CNC Machining. The candidate will also be self-motivated, a good team player and be quality oriented. Experience of Mazak, Matsuura and Haas machining centres would be an advantage for this role.

Materials Engineer / 40 hours per week, Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW488
The Postholder will be responsible for the specification and control of processes in the manufacture of castings at GW, including determining best practice for manufacture of casting alloys to incorporate metal chemistry, metal preparation and heat treatment. They will also perform casting defect/ failure investigations and reporting thereof to internal and external customers, as well as researching and developing new and existing processes to provide best in class performance in the chosen products and markets of the business.
The successful candidate will hold a recognised formal engineering qualification or will have demonstrable significant experience in the relevant fields. They will have relevant foundry/ materials research experience (aluminium is preferred but ferrous is accepted), will be proficient in Microsoft Office and will hold a current, valid driving licence. Proficiency in CAD software would be desirable for this role. This role includes the possibility of overseas travel.
Quality Projects Manager – 9 month fixed term contract / 40 hours per week, Bridgnorth Job Ref: GW489
The Postholder’s responsibilities will include leading allocated quality projects, managing and mitigating key process and product quality risks and managing key customer quality concerns as required by the Company, including warranty and product quality launch issues. Responsibilities also include driving quality group standardisation in co-ordination with Quality Managers in the business.
The successful candidate must hold a recognised formal engineering qualification or demonstrable significant experience in relevant fields as well as having experience of managing complex quality projects and of conducting customer, internal and compliance audits. Experience of leading and resolving complex quality technical issues is required for this role, as are experience of managing warranty concerns and in-depth knowledge of quality toolset, including 8D, Control Plans, FMEA’s, SPC, problem solving techniques, 5S and other quality tools and techniques. The successful candidate must be conversant with ISO 9001:2008 & IATF16949 and have broad automotive customer quality experience. A current, valid driving licence is required for this role.

Machining Production Manager / 40 hours per week, Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW493
The Postholder’s duties will include overseeing machining operations, contributing to quality improvements, managing people, managing finances and managing health, safety and environmental improvements in the machining cell.
The successful candidate will have a recognised formal engineering qualification or demonstrable significant experience in relevant fields and will have a proven track record of automotive machining production management, preferably with product knowledge of cylinder head & cylinder block manufacture. Recent experience in a CNC manufacturing environment and an in-depth understanding of machining technical drawings and geometric tolerances are required for this role, as are demonstrable experience of collating data and reporting on KPIs and of implementing continuous improvement activities. The successful candidate will also require a good understanding of health and safety legislation as it applies to CNC machining, experience of managing a team and a current, valid driving licence.

Sales Co-Ordinator / 37 hours per week, Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW496
The Postholder’s duties will include leading on the development of Grainger & Worrall’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, being responsible for collating the Sales department management reports and communicate with, and support development of, new and existing customer accounts. Tracking enquiry & quotation activities forms part of this role, as does preparing and maintaining Grainger & Worrall presentation materials.
The successful candidate will have recent administration experience, preferably in a sales and/or marketing environment, and will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to confidently converse with customers, suppliers and internal members of the team. Competence in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint is required, as is experience of working with, and handling, confidential data. An understanding of engineering/ tooling/casting/ machining is desirable for this role, as are MS Dynamics CRM system experience with customisation ability and experience with online office systems.
