The Postholder’s duties will include setting existing products on CNC machining centers including downloading programs, setting of tools and fixtures and making required adjustments to offsets. Duties also include setting new fixtures and prove out programs for new products and setting and proving out new tooling for new products.
The successful candidate will have experience in the role responsibilities. Experience of HAAS & MAZAK machining centres is an advantage. With reasonable notice, the successful candidate will be required to change their shift to the lateshift in accordance with the operational needs of the business.
Manufacturing Engineer / GW Machining, Bridgnorth / 45 hours per week / Job Ref: GW475
The Postholder will be responsible for manufacturing process planning, CNC offline program creation and CNC cutting tool selection and procurement. Other duties include training and instructing others in offline programming, customer liaison on design for manufacture and general technical issues and introducing and progressing New Products through the shop.
The successful candidates will have an in-depth knowledge of on line ISO programming, technical drawings, geometric tolerances and practices, along with experience and knowledge of CAD/ CAM and a good understanding of CMM inspection methods.
CMM Programmer / GW Machining – Bridgnorth / 37.5 hours per week on a flexible shift working basis / Job Ref: GW479
The Postholder will be responsible for writing CMM programs from both 2d and 3d data using PCDMIS, Quindos and Mitutoyo Geopak software, selecting suitable probes and attachments for the CMM to ensure accurate and efficient measurement of components, and generating clear and concise CMM reports which display all customer and manufacturing required outputs. Other responsibilities include analysing CMM reports and communicating any non-conforming measured features and features which are moving towards the limits of tolerance and liaise with production staff to correct any such issues, providing training to production operatives on the operation of the CMM’s for running jobs, and compiling corrective action reports for non-conforming products and liaising with production staff to ensure correction of any out-of-specification features.
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of inspection of machined parts whilst employing a wide range of measurement techniques mainly CMM but including, Shadow Graph and all generally used engineering inspection tools, a good working knowledge of PCDMIS preferably for DEA CMM machines, proven experience of meeting customer deadlines and experience of creating detailed instructions, control plans and standard working procedures. Relevant industry experience of machined parts inspection employing all commonly used engineering inspection equipment is required for this role, as is a good understanding of customer and engineering requirements. A working knowledge of Quindos and Geopak is desirable for this role.

Materials Engineer / 40 hours per week / Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW488
The Postholder will be responsible for the specification and control of processes in the manufacture of castings at GW, including determining best practice for manufacture of casting alloys to incorporate metal chemistry, metal preparation and heat treatment. They will also perform casting defect/ failure investigations and reporting thereof to internal and external customers, as well as researching and developing new and existing processes to provide best in class performance in the chosen products and markets of the business.
The successful candidate will hold a recognised formal engineering qualification or will have demonstrable significant experience in the relevant fields. They will have relevant foundry/ materials research experience (aluminium is preferred but ferrous is accepted), will be proficient in Microsoft Office and will hold a current, valid driving licence. Proficiency in CAD software would be desirable for this role. This role includes the possibility of overseas travel.

The Postholder’s duties will include manufacturing process planning, CNC offline program creation, CNC cutting tool selection and procurement and customer liaison on design for manufacture and general technical issues. Duties will also include setting and operation of CNC machines for the prove out process of new products, liaising with suppliers for sub-contract processing and introducing and progressing New Products through the shop. This role will hold responsibility for
sign off of new programs and hand over to B56 & B52 production teams and New Product Introduction in both B56 & B52 machining areas.

Sales Co-Ordinator / 37 hours per week / Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW496
The Postholder’s duties will include leading on the development of Grainger & Worrall’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, being responsible for collating the Sales department management reports and communicate with, and support development of, new and existing customer accounts. Tracking enquiry & quotation activities forms part of this role, as does preparing and maintaining Grainger & Worrall presentation materials.
The successful candidate will have recent administration experience, preferably in a sales and/or marketing environment, and will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to confidently converse with customers, suppliers and internal members of the team. Competence in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint is required, as is experience of working with, and handling, confidential data. An understanding of engineering/ tooling/casting/ machining is desirable for this role, as are MS Dynamics CRM system experience with customisation ability and experience with online office systems.
Production Cell Operator x 4 (fixed term contract up to end December 2019) / 37 or 37.5 hours per week worked on a flexible shift working basis in accordance with the needs of the business / Job Ref: GW505
The Postholder’s duties will include carrying out initial visual inspection for raw casting prior to loading to the machining centre, setting existing products on CNC machining centres, setting of tools and fixtures and making required adjustments to offsets, as well as carrying out in-process inspection checks, including the use of appropriate gauging, and document as required. Final inspection to ensure 100% right first time quality specification and maintenance of the CNC machining centres are also requirements of this role.
The successful candidates will have experience of Mazak machining centres, be able to work using their own initiative, have good interpersonal skills and a methodical approach to work. A current, valid forklift truck licence would be desirable for these roles.
Please note that all Operators will receive on-the-job training on the dayshift. They will then transfer to the allocated shift pattern – these are anticipated to be two roles predominantly on dayshift & two roles predominantly on lateshift.
Production Cell Leading Hand / 37 or 37.5 hours per week worked on a flexible shift working basis in accordance with the needs of the business / Job Ref: GW507
The Postholder’s duties will include leading the Production Cell shift operators, implementing and initiating work activities that are passed on from the relevant Manager & ensuring those activities are undertaken, establishing priorities & meeting targets for daily & weekly cell production. Duties also include setting existing products on CNC machining centers, setting of tools and fixtures and making required adjustments to offsets, deburring and washing, assembly and packing, changing tools, tips and resetting datums, and conducting in-process inspection checks and final inspection to ensure 100% right first time quality specification.
The successful candidate will have experience of machining centres and of the responsibilities required of the role. A current, valid forklift truck licence is desirable, as is experience of Mazak machining centres.
