CNC Setter/ Operator (Dayshift) / 37 hours per week / Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW464

The Postholder’s duties will include setting existing products on CNC machining centers including downloading programs, setting of tools and fixtures and making required adjustments to offsets. Duties also include setting new fixtures and prove out programs for new products and setting and proving out new tooling for new products.

The successful candidate will have experience in the role responsibilities. Experience of HAAS & MAZAK machining centres is an advantage. With reasonable notice, the successful candidate will be required to change their shift to the lateshift in accordance with the operational needs of the business.

Manufacturing Engineer /  GW Machining, Bridgnorth / 45 hours per week / Job Ref: GW475

The Postholder will be responsible for manufacturing process planning, CNC offline program creation and CNC cutting tool selection and procurement. Other duties include training and instructing others in offline programming, customer liaison on design for manufacture and general technical issues and introducing and progressing New Products through the shop.

The successful candidates will have an in-depth knowledge of on line ISO programming, technical drawings, geometric tolerances and practices, along with experience and knowledge of CAD/ CAM and a good understanding of CMM inspection methods.

The successful candidate will have relevant previous experience, as well as experience of Fanuc and/ or Mazak / Mazatrol machining centers.

Materials Engineer / 40 hours per week / Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW488

The Postholder will be responsible for the specification and control of processes in the manufacture of castings at GW, including determining best practice for manufacture of casting alloys to incorporate metal chemistry, metal preparation and heat treatment. They will also perform casting defect/ failure investigations and reporting thereof to internal and external customers, as well as researching and developing new and existing processes to provide best in class performance in the chosen products and markets of the business.

The successful candidate will hold a recognised formal engineering qualification or will have demonstrable significant experience in the relevant fields. They will have relevant foundry/ materials research experience (aluminium is preferred but ferrous is accepted), will be proficient in Microsoft Office and will hold a current, valid driving licence. Proficiency in CAD software would be desirable for this role. This role includes the possibility of overseas travel.

Sales Co-Ordinator  / 37 hours per week / Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW496

The Postholder’s duties will include leading on the development of Grainger & Worrall’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, being responsible for collating the Sales department management reports and communicate with, and support development of, new and existing customer accounts. Tracking enquiry & quotation activities forms part of this role, as does preparing and maintaining Grainger & Worrall presentation materials.

The successful candidate will have recent administration experience, preferably in a sales and/or marketing environment, and will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to confidently converse with customers, suppliers and internal members of the team. Competence in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint is required, as is experience of working with, and handling, confidential data. An understanding of engineering/ tooling/casting/ machining is desirable for this role, as are MS Dynamics CRM system experience with customisation ability and experience with online office systems.

CNC Setter/ Programmers / GW Machining – Bridgnorth, 37.5 hours per week on a flexible shift working basis in accordance with the needs of the business / Job Ref: GW511

The Postholders’ responsibilities will involve setting and operating the CNC machines for the prove out process of new products and for general production, on line CNC program creation, CNC cutting tool selection, data control and assisting with fixture design when appropriate
The successful candidates will have relevant previous experience, as well as experience of machining of castings and an in-depth knowledge of CNC Machining. The candidates will also be self-motivated, good team players and be quality oriented. Experience of Mazak, Matsuura and Haas machining centres would be an advantage for this role.

Foundry Technician x 2: / 37 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern, Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW520

The Postholders’ duties will include supporting the Engineering team with sampling activities, supporting the transition from sampling to production and supporting investigation of product issues.

The successful candidates will have knowledge of health and safety legislation as it applies to the role, have successfully completed a RoSPA certified manual handling training course (or equivalent qualification) and will have completed Health, Safety & Environmental awareness training. Competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel & PowerPoint is required for this role, along with foundry process, cast product and automotive quality orientation and strong engineering bias proven through either education or experience. Relevant industry experience of cast and machined parts inspection employing all commonly used engineering inspection equipment is desirable for this role, as is an NVQ level 2 certificate or above in a relevant subject (or equivalent qualification).

Machining Co-ordinator (Maternity Leave Cover) / 20 hours per week, Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW524

This vacancy is for a fixed-term period to provide maternity leave cover. The Postholder’s will be responsible for maintaining the Machining Worklist. Duties also include subcontract liaison, financial administration and general administration within the Machining team. The Postholder is required to maintain as strictly confidential any customer sensitive or employee sensitive information including financial information.

The successful candidate will have recent administration experience, experience of accurate record/ data keeping and competence in Microsoft Office, in particular MS Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience of working with, and handling, confidential data is required for this role, as are recent demonstrable experience of taking ownership and accountability of tasks assigned and good communication skills, with the ability to confidently converse with both suppliers and internal team members. Experience with ISO systems & Navision is desirable for this role, as is administration experience in a machining team.

Technical Apprentice / 37.5 hours per week, GW Machining, Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW516

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Apprentice in the metrology department at our bespoke machining centre in Bridgnorth.  The Apprentice will complete an apprenticeship in a technical subject to be agreed with the Company and will attend training at the state-of-the-art Marches Centre of Manufacturing and Technology.  The successful candidate will take on additional responsibility as the apprenticeship progresses and will undertake project work as assigned by the Company.  The apprentice will develop their technical knowledge in metrology.

The successful candidate will hold, or be predicted to achieve, a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), including in English, in Mathematics and in a Science, Engineering or Technology (or equivalent qualifications).  Good communication skills, as well as organising and planning skills, are required and candidates should also be competent in the use of Microsoft Office.  Successful applicants will be employed on an Apprenticeship Agreement that will last for the duration of the apprenticeship.
