Patternmaker / 37 hours per week, Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW346

A vacancy has arisen for two Patternmakers on the dayshift, reporting to the Patternshop Manager. Previous experience of patternmaking is required for this role.

Assistant Quality Engineer / 40 hours per week, Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW421

The Postholder’s duties will include facilitating activities to reduce scrap and rework, promoting visual management for product and process control on the shop floor, liaising between departments to confirm compliance of product on the shop floor, and eradication of known quality related issues using lessons learnt tools.

The successful candidate will have a strong quality orientation, have the ability to work within a dynamic, fast moving production environment and be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team. Experience in inspection, quality, casting, machining, metallurgy and client facing roles would be desirable for this role, as would experience of ISO 9001:2008 and knowledge of 8D, Control Plans, FMEAs and other quality tools and techniques.

Metrology Operator x 2 / One role on 37 hpw on the dayshift; one role on 34.5 hpw on weekend dayshift, Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW433

The Postholders’ duties will include a combination of loading, operating and basic programming of CT scanner systems, data download, metallurgical analysis and report creation from CT scan images, loading and operating CMM systems, and CMM report data download and first level analysis.

The successful applicants will hold knowledge of health and safety legislation as it applies to the role, have successfully completed a RoSPA certified manual handling training course (or equivalent qualification), and will have completed Health, Safety & Environmental awareness training. Competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel & PowerPoint is required for this role, as is experience of using a range of computer operating systems, e.g. GOM, PCDMIS. Experience of using metrology tools and techniques on castings is desirable for this role, as is experience of using CT/ Optical and of using CMM techniques and analysis.

CNC Setter/ Operator (Dayshift) / 37 hours per week / Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW464

The Postholder’s duties will include setting existing products on CNC machining centers including downloading programs, setting of tools and fixtures and making required adjustments to offsets. Duties also include setting new fixtures and prove out programs for new products and setting and proving out new tooling for new products.

The successful candidate will have experience in the role responsibilities. Experience of HAAS & MAZAK machining centres is an advantage. With reasonable notice, the successful candidate will be required to change their shift to the lateshift in accordance with the operational needs of the business.

 

Machining Engineer / 40 hours per week, Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW474

The Postholder’s responsibilities will include supporting GW NPI process and gateway meetings, liaising with MP&L for casting delivery to GWM and sub supplier base, ensuring sub-contractors have current drawings and relevant technical data to support machining of our products and ensuring sub-contractors have current drawings and relevant technical data to support machining of our products. Providing technical support to sub-contract machinists before and during the machining of products is also required in this role, as are obtaining and reviewing suitable quotations for the machining of castings, negotiating suitable costs with subcontractors and assisting with the preparation of monthly predicted sales figures. National and international travel is needed for this role when appropriate.

The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of machining supported by a broader general engineering knowledge and have a good understanding of customer and engineering requirements. They will be competent in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Word, Excel and Outlook, have good written and verbal communication skills and be quality orientated. A current, valid driving licence is required for this role.

Manufacturing Engineer / 45 hours per week, GW Machining, Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW475

The Postholder will be responsible for manufacturing process planning, CNC offline program creation and CNC cutting tool selection and procurement. Other duties include training and instructing others in offline programming, customer liaison on design for manufacture and general technical issues and introducing and progressing New Products through the shop.

The successful candidates will have an in-depth knowledge of on line ISO programming, technical drawings, geometric tolerances and practices, along with experience and knowledge of CAD/ CAM and a good understanding of CMM inspection methods.

Supply Chain Controller / 45 hours per week, Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW477

The Postholder’s duties will include supporting the MP&L Management team with all MP&L responsibilities, controlling Supply Chain activity, including all sub-contract processes, and auditing and analysing data on behalf of the MP&L function.

The successful applicant will have previous MP&L experience within a manufacturing environment, have proven experience of achieving on time delivery to the quality standard required by the customer, have knowledge of health and safety legislation as it applies to the role and have successfully completed a RoSPA certified manual handling training course (or equivalent qualification). Strong analytical skills are needed for this role, as are organising and planning skills
and problem solving skills. Quality system knowledge is desirable for this role.
