CNC Setter/ Operator / GW Machining – Bridgnorth, 37.5 hours per week on a flexible shift working basis in accordance with the needs of the business / Job Ref: GW481

The Postholder’s responsibilities will involve setting existing products on CNC machining centers including downloading programs, setting of tools and fixtures and making required adjustments to offsets, setting new fixtures and prove out programs for new products, and setting and proving out new tooling for new products.

The successful candidate will have relevant previous experience, as well as experience of Fanuc and/ or Mazak / Mazatrol machining centers.

The Postholders’ responsibilities will involve setting and operating the CNC machines for the prove out process of new products and for general production, on line CNC program creation, CNC cutting tool selection, data control and assisting with fixture design when appropriate
The successful candidates will have relevant previous experience, as well as experience of machining of castings and an in-depth knowledge of CNC Machining. The candidates will also be self-motivated, good team players and be quality oriented. Experience of Mazak, Matsuura and Haas machining centres would be an advantage for this role.

Foundry Technician x 2: / 37 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern, Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW520

The Postholders’ duties will include supporting the Engineering team with sampling activities, supporting the transition from sampling to production and supporting investigation of product issues.

The successful candidates will have knowledge of health and safety legislation as it applies to the role, have successfully completed a RoSPA certified manual handling training course (or equivalent qualification) and will have completed Health, Safety & Environmental awareness training. Competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel & PowerPoint is required for this role, along with foundry process, cast product and automotive quality orientation and strong engineering bias proven through either education or experience. Relevant industry experience of cast and machined parts inspection employing all commonly used engineering inspection equipment is desirable for this role, as is an NVQ level 2 certificate or above in a relevant subject (or equivalent qualification).

Production Manager – Series Products / GW Machining – Bridgnorth, 45 hours per week / Job Ref: GW541

The Postholder will set the series production priorities and targets to deliver customer requirements in line with customer schedules, will contribute to quality improvements, manage the series production teams, hold responsibility for cost control over the series production area and will manage health and safety and environmental improvements.

The successful candidate will hold a recognised formal engineering qualification or will have demonstrable significant experience in relevant fields. They will have recent mechanical manufacturing industry experience, have experience in a precision engineering and machining environment, will have excellent people management skills and have experience of managing a team. Demonstrable experience of collating data and reporting on KPIs is required for this role, as are an understanding of process and product engineering and demonstrable experience of implementing continuous improvement activities. The successful candidate must have a good understanding of health and safety legislation as it applies to production working and hold a current, valid driving licence.

Laboratory Technician / GW Engineering – Worcester; 39 hours per week / Job Ref: GW544

The Postholder’s duties will include micrographic sample preparation, component sectioning & preparation for metallurgical/ failure investigations. Duties also include NDT inspections including dye penetrant inspection, real time x-ray inspections, wet film x-ray results inspection and CT scan reporting.

The successful applicant will have a strong research orientation, proven through either education or experience, basic experience of NDT testing of metal castings and will be proficient in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of health and safety legislation as it applies to the role, as are successful completion a RoSPA certified manual handling training course (or equivalent qualification) and completion of Health, Safety & Environmental awareness training. The successful applicant will have completed crane slinger, bobcat and/or overhead crane training (or other training required in the role), as necessary, and will have good communication skills, both verbal and written. Patternmaker / GW Engineering – Worcester; 39 hours per week / Job Ref: GW545

The Postholder’s duties will include working closely with production in the repair/modification/correction of core blown tooling and distribution/drag/cope/bush tooling, supporting engineering with new product tooling introduction at sampling stage to snag/correct geometry issues as they may arise in the tool real time and supporting all production tooling including blown and hand rammed should faults/repairs/snagging be required to enable parts to be successfully manufactured/blown.

The Postholder’s duties will include conducting quality audits of process and product, supporting scrap and rework reporting and analysis, attending a daily scrap review and leading PDI activity related to metrology inspection of product using standard measuring equipment such as verniers, calipers, height gauges and micrometers.

The Postholder’s duties will include carrying out plant and equipment installation in line with the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) system and best working practices and maintaining minimal disruption whilst carrying out all new instructions and quality maintenance/ repair processes & practices. CMM Programmer / GW Machining – Bridgnorth, 37.5 hours per week on a flexible shift working basis in accordance with the needs of the business / Job Ref: GW556

The Postholder will be responsible for writing CMM programs from both 2d and 3d data using PCDMIS, Quindos and Mitutoyo Geopak software, selecting suitable probes and attachments for the CMM to ensure accurate and efficient measurement of components, and generating clear and concise CMM reports which display all customer and manufacturing required outputs. Other responsibilities include analysing CMM reports and communicating any non-conforming measured features and features which are moving towards the limits of tolerance and liaise with production staff to correct any such issues, providing training to production operatives on the operation of the CMM’s for running jobs, and compiling corrective action reports for non-conforming products and liaising with production staff to ensure correction of any out-of-specification features.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of inspection of machined parts whilst employing a wide range of measurement techniques mainly CMM but including, Shadow Graph and all generally used engineering inspection tools, a good working knowledge of PCDMIS preferably for DEA CMM machines, proven experience of meeting customer deadlines and experience of creating detailed instructions, control plans and standard working procedures. Relevant industry experience of machined parts inspection employing all commonly used engineering inspection equipment is required for this role, as is a good understanding of customer and engineering requirements. A working knowledge of Quindos and Geopak is desirable for this role.

Quality Engineer – GW Machining Limited / 45 hours per week, Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW557

The Postholder’s duties will include providing leadership and ownership of quality improvements, facilitating activities to reduce scrap and rework, managing the measurement of scrap effectively, providing support and coaching using visual management to all shop floor processes with respect to product quality, and liaising with customers and internal departments to ensure problem resolution and support of the Company’s New Product Introduction process.

Atlas Systems Engineer / 40 hours per week, Bridgnorth / Job Ref: GW559

The Postholder’s duties will include developing the Atlas system to support NPI gateways, problem solving issues on the Atlas systems as they arise and supporting the implementation of the Atlas system throughout the company. Development, implementation and maintenance of the Prototype Track and Trace Atlas System also forms part of this role, as does training users and documenting changes to Atlas Systems.

The successful candidate will hold a recognized formal qualification in engineering or computer science or have demonstrable significant experience in relevant fields. Proven, recent experience of developing business-driven solutions in Microsoft Access and a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Access VBA are required for this role, as are the ability to use Microsoft Access to manipulate data and create reports and the proven ability to configure systems that align with business processes. The successful applicant will have experience of IT systems implementation and an understanding of both New Product Introduction (NPI) processes within a manufacturing organization and of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as it applies to the role. Previous experience of working within a Business Analyst or Programming role is desirable, as is SQL server experience.

The Postholder will be responsible for the specification and control of processes in the manufacture of castings at GW, including determining best practice for manufacture of casting alloys to incorporate metal chemistry, metal preparation and heat treatment. They will also perform casting defect/ failure investigations and reporting thereof to internal and external customers, as well as researching and developing new and existing processes to provide best in class performance in the chosen products and markets of the business

The successful candidate will hold a recognised formal engineering qualification or will have demonstrable significant experience in the relevant fields. They will have relevant foundry/ materials research experience (aluminium is preferred but ferrous is accepted), will be proficient in Microsoft Office and will hold a current, valid driving licence.  Proficiency in CAD software would be desirable for this role.
