Queen's Award for Enterprise

New Appointment | Matthew Snelson

The world’s leading total castings solution providers, Grainger & Worrall, has appointed Matthew Snelson to its senior team, as it looks to drive forward its ambitions in the automotive, motorsport, defence and aerospace sectors.

Grainger & Worrall has worked hard to establish a global reputation as a high quality provider of precision castings, at the forefront of engineering design and innovation.

Matthew Grainger, director of Grainger & Worrall, said: “Our continued success as a UK-based engineering business is very much down to our ongoing commitment to invest in R&D, new plant and equipment and new personnel. This approach includes our recent £500,000 investment in a 3D printer and our ongoing programme to develop the highest calibre engineering apprentices.

“As executive quality manager, Matthew will help to build on our reputation as industry leaders in innovation and manufacturing, by focusing on our commitment to continued efficiency and creativity in how we deliver bespoke casting solutions in the future.

“His appointment will help to reinforce Grainger & Worrall’s position as a world-class manufacturer, as we look forward to growing the business and new programme launches.”

A chartered engineer, Snelson has held a number of senior international posts in the vehicle manufacturer and tier one automotive industry. In his new role, he will focus on product, process and system robustness, building on Grainger & Worrall’s class-leading performance, which saw it win a second Queen’s Award for Enterprise in 2012.

Snelson said: “I am thrilled to be working with a business that has led the way in castings development and innovation for many years. I am already enjoying working with the talented Grainger & Worrall team and it is very exciting to be part of a company that is truly groundbreaking in its approach to developing advanced casting technologies.
